Professional of the Year
An individual professional, who is self-employed or employed in a company or organization. The person has demonstrated excellence in his or her field of business in the recent past, and has demonstrated leadership and positively impacted the community. Examples include CEOs, lawyers, accountants, doctors, bankers, consultants, etc. Non-profit leaders are eligible for this award.
Professional of the Year Award Finalist 2015 – Federica Nazzani
Federica Nazzani is President of Capital Assist (Valuation) Inc., located at 2558 Dougall Avenue in Windsor. Capital Assist (Valuation) Inc. is an independent business and transaction advisory practice established to assist clients in meeting their strategic and financial objectives. Their services include business valuation, complex financial analysis and forecasting, assistance in debt, equity and government financing, litigation support and financial investigation, investor due diligence, as well as strategic planning and corporate governance. The firm also provides interim-CFO and Executive services to assist companies in growth and transition.
Previously, Nazzani served as President & CEO of the Windsor International Airport, where she was instrumental in turning around Airport operations to achieve profitability, stability, and diversification. She was also Vice President of Business Development for Premier Aviation, one of Canada’s largest privately-held maintenance, repair, and overhaul companies.
Currently, Nazzani is on the Board of Directors of the Windsor Club (President), Art Gallery of Windsor, Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce Small Medium-Sized Enterprises Task Force (Chair), Windsor Cancer Research Group Strategic Partnership Committee, and as a volunteer Mentor at WEtech Alliance.
Nazzani has received a number of prestigious awards and nominations in recognition of her high quality of customer service and success in her profession, including the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario Fellowship Award (2013), Windsor Flying Club President’s Award (2012), University of Waterloo School of Accounting and Finance Fellowship Honouree (2009), nominee for 2010 Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 Award, nominee for 2010 Canada’s Most Powerful Women Top 100 – Women’s Executive Network, nominee for 2008 ATHENA Award, and nominee for Business Professional Award from the Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce from 2004 to 2006. Nazzani is a Fellow Chartered Public Accountant (FCPA, FCA) and Chartered Business Valuator (CBV).
